When I purchased a puppy from Rick & Brenda at Walnut Hill Kennels, I had hoped for a shorthair that could get it done in the field & look good doing it. Brandi has exceeded my expectations, in the field, ring, and home, as well as becoming our breeding foundation.
Brandi surprised me with her first wild pheasant point at 5 months old, and is my personal gundog, hunting upland birds, waterfowl, and blood tracking the occasional deer. She is a medium range dog, with lots of run, and intense point, love of water, and natural retrieve.
In field testing, Brandi has received a NAVHDA NA 3 (100) at 1 yr 1 mo, a field trial puppy placement, a NAVHDA UPT2 (175) at 3 yrs 4 mo, and a NAVHDA UT2 (177) at 3 yrs 5 mo...all by a first time handler. In the Fall of 2015, Brandi earned her AKC Senior Hunter title. An AKC Dock Novice title was attained by Brandi in the Fall of 2016.
With no prior show experience, I handled Brandi to 12 of her conformation championship points, including a major, Best of Breed, Best Opposite Sex over specials, and several Reserve Majors. She received her 2nd major to finish her championship handled by Diane Engelking.
